Gigote et fricote!

My favorite class and I are watching a film known in France as Ricky Bobby. I figured even if they hated it, they would at least have something to talk about.

They don’t think it’s that funny, of course, because they are just reading the subtitles. Sometimes they shoot me puzzled glances when I’m collapsing in the corner with giggles.

We didn’t watch much of the film today because I was evicted from my normal classroom and so we lost some time in moving. (This happens all the time in my school, and in Joe’s as well.) My original plan was to spend half the hour watching the beginning of the film and the other half discussing stereotypes, but as it was we barely got around to comparing Ricky Bobby and Jean Girard when the bell rang. It’s going to take us until the end of the semester to finish the damn thing, at this rate. (I see this class every two weeks, so this is not much of an exaggeration.)

The title of this entry, by the way, is the French subtitles’ approximation of “Shake and Bake!”

One response to “Gigote et fricote!”
